Abstract

To determine the effert of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers (three levels,
each at 0, 50 and 100 Kg/ha) on agronomic characteristics of lentil (cv. Ziba),
.an experiment was conducted at the Experiment Station of the College Df
Agriculture of Tehran University, Karaj, Iran in 1991-1993. Traits studied
were: days from sowing to 50% flowering, days from sowing to 90% maturity,
100 seed weight (g) and grain yield (kg/ha). Simple and compound analyses were performed on the data. It was found that different levels of N and P fertilizers as well as their interactions had significant effects on grain yield. The optimum level of N and P fertilizers was found to be 50 Kg/ha.,- each. The trend for grain yield and N fertilizer levels followed a second degree function, which declined with increased levels of fertilizer. The coefficient of determination on the basis of pooled data for three years were 0.58, 0.30 and 0.16, respectively.
