In order to study “Sevin” as a Thinning agent for crop regulation of Golden Delicious apple, experiments were conducted in a randomized complete design with two Sevin concenterations and three times of applications. In two successive years,80 apple trees which were all had been grafted on EM IV, were spreved 10,20 and 30 days after full-bloom, with 85% Sevin at concenterations of 0.8,1 and 1.2 grams per liters.
Sevin application at 20 days after full-bloom showed the highest abscission of fruits. Although different concenterations of Sevin were apparently effective on the measured chracteristics in comparison with control,The differances were not statistically significant. The results of different years were not exactly the same.Several influencing factors were discussed.
