The vegetative and generative traits of parents and F1, of “resynthesized rapeseed lines x improved 00—varieties” were evaluated on experimental field in microplot.s. F1 combination had earlier ripening than resyn—lines, even though onset of flowering was the same for both. High heterosis values were found for vegetative traits like growth after winter, leaf size and plant height. Furthermore the surpassed the resyn-lines in regard to their yield components.
Performance of resyn-lines was investigated in a simple lattice design over three locations. The lighest yielding resyn—line “H128” reached only 87% of the improved varieties mean.
The highest correlation coefficient was found for cold resistance and growth after winter. The performance of F2 populations were also evaluated in two simple lattice designs over two locations. The average yield of F populations were lower than variety means, mainly because of their low winter hardiness. Nevertheless combinations with high yielding resyn-lines reached yields of 97% of improved varieties. By selection of single furtile plants within the resyn-lines with highest performance good combiners will be available.
