In order to study the effects of diet dilution and feed restriction period on broiler performance, 992 broiler chicks were used from 5 to 56 days of age. Experimental diets used were diluted at levels of 0, 15 ,30 and 45%. Restriction periods were 5 and or 10 days , namely from 5 to 10 and from 5 to 15 days of age. After restriction periods . the chicks were fed the control diet up to 21 days of age, then grower and finisher diets were given accordingly. Body weight gain was reduced significantly (P <0.05) by 45% diet dilution. 10 days restriction feeding , reduced body weight gain and feed conversion significantly (P <0.05) . Reduced body weight was compensated by the chicks form 21 to 56 days of age. Abodminal fat and breast meat were not affected significantly by the experimental treatments.
