Abstract

In order to evaluate the use of beet molasses in broiler nutrition an experiments were conducted.
In this experiment the ratios of 0,2,4,6,8,10,12 and 11 percent of beet molasses from •‘Neyshaboor sugar factory” were mixed in eignt isoenergetic (2900 Kcal/kg) diets, for starter and grower phases. These diets were fed to 192 one week old male chickens. The statistical design of this experiment was CRD with 8 treatments, three replications for each treatment and 8 Chicks used per experimental unit. Body weight, feed consumption, water consumption and excreta moisture content were measured weekly. The first three measurments and also calculated feed conversion ratio were not statistcrly different among treatments. But the differences in excreta moisture content and calculated cost of feed consumed per Kilogram of body weight was highly significant (P<0.01). Also in this experiment the effect of diets on Liver and gallbladder weights were not differnt significantly
The results obtained under these condition suggest that beet molasses can be used in broiler ration up to 6 percent. The use of more than 6 percent is not feasible and economically is not recommended. Litter moisture content may causes some troubles also.
