In order to find out the qualitative and quantitative improvement of flowering of Fritillaria imperialis bulbs the counter-effect of chilling and
gibberellin on precocity was studied. The bulbs were collected from their natural site on Zagross mountains. They were treated with chilling and gibberellin then were grown under controlled conditions. The results indicate that suitable and limited chilling along with gibberellin application cause flowers, qualitative and quantitative improvement and precocity of the bulbs. This experiment was conducted using a completly randomized design with three replications in a greenhouse of Horticulture Dept, Faculty of
Agriculture in Karaj.
