A field experiment was conducted to study the effects of four different tillage methods on grain yield of wheat in rotation with corn , as well as soil physical properties in Darab Agricultural Research Station from 1996 to 1999.This experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design with four treatments and five replications. Treatments included: 1-conventional tillage; moldboard plow and disk harrow (MB.P) 2-Chisel plow and disk harrow (CH.P) 3&4-Use of maize stalk shredder (SH) before the first and second treatment operations. In all tillage methods yield and yield components(plant/m2, spike/m2 and kernel weight) as well as soil physical properties were measured. The results showed that different tillage methods had a significant effect on crop yield.Maximum grain yield was obtained in SH+MB.P treatment. There was no significant difference observed in grain yiled between use of MB.P and CH.P methods. Soil penetration measurments showed that the four tillage methods used here had no significant effect on soil cone index up to 30cm depth.
