Abstract

During years 2000-2001,a faunal study was conducted in sugarbeet fields of Miandoab plain in which 16 families, 35 genera and 47 speceis belonging to the order Prostigmata were collected from sugarbeet folaige as well as soil. Only one was phytophagus while all the remaining were predators, fungivores and/or saprophagous. The new records for the mite fauna are indicated by one and two asterisk(s) for Iran and the world, respectively.
