Scoliid wasps are parasitoid of larval stage of scarabaeidae and some of Curculionidae. Scoliidae is a cosmopolitan but predominantly tropical family. In order to identify these parasitoid wasps in different parts of Tehran province, morphological characters such as wing, thorax, abdomen and genital organs, were studied on specimens collected from karaj, M. Esmailis insect collection and H. Mirzayans museum. All these species were confirmed by Dr Osten (specialist in Scoliidae wasps). Seven species and subspecies of Scolia genus that are new records for insects’ fauna of Iran are as indicated below:
Scolia (Scolia)fallax Eversmann, 1849
Scolia (Scolia) galbula (Pallas, 1771)
Scolia (Scolia) sexmaculata orientalis (Steinberg, 1962)
Scolia (Scolia)fucformis Scopoli, 1786
Scolia (Scolia) flavicepsflaviceps, Eversmann, 1846
Scolia (Scolia)flaviceps mangichiakensis (Radoskovsk, 1879)
Scolia (Scolia) tukestanica Betrem, 1935
