High population of aphids and mites on young shool_. leaves. buds and small fruits cause considerable damage in pomegranate orchards ofvaramin. Iran. In an attempt to investigate about nontoxic chemical method for integrated control of these pests. 3 and 2 percent dormant oil was applied in midmarch and late June respectively. Samplesof aphids. mites as well as crops harvested in cheks and treated plots were compared and evaluated statistically. These investigations revealed that oil sprayses reduced aphids and mites population and increased fruits production up to 25 percents. The population changes of aphids and mites were investigated and the obtained data were statistically ana lysed and related histograms were drawn. The results indicated that. oil treatment decreased population of mites and aphid_ and increased the fruit production. Student values of 3.542 (for aphids) and 4.715 (for mites) indicates highly significant( a = % 1) differences among treated and control plots.
