Abstract

Animal production is in low level in Iran. One of the distinguished reasons is
lack of feedstuffs. The feed shortage can be overcome by different ways, for ins tances , by using wastes of animals, by -products of Agro-Industries, etc. in animal feed formulation. The objectives of this investigation were to measure the nutritive value of tea wastes through chemical method and feeding trial.
The obtained results indicate that, the crude protein content of tea wastes is relatively high (18.39%) , and this feed can be used in ration of native and exotic cattle at 10% level without any problem. Total average gain of Cattles fed ration containing tea wastes and ration without tea wastes, for 157 days, werel7o.14and182,09 kg , respectively. Feed conversion of fattening cattle receiving tea- wastes con - taming ration was 6.87 while for the other ration was 6. 37.
