Abstract
In order to study the effect of diluted diets in broiler chicks two experiments one in summer and the other in winter were conducted. In exp. males and females one - day old chicks housed separately. At first week of age the broilers were fed a standard starter diet, containing 3100 Kcal MEn/Kg and 22.3% CP (Nx 6.25). At first day of the second week (phase 1), each sex group was divided into 24 sub groups (20/each), with equal weight and housed separately, and 12 of them were randomly assigned to 4 dietary treatments (20/each) with 3 replications. The rest sub groups were fed, diet 1. The diets consisted of the diet 1 and three diluted diets with 20, 30 and 40% rice hulls, containg 2480, 2170 and 1860 Kcal MEn/Kg, and 17.8, 15.6 and 13.6% CP, respectively. In the first phase, the diets were fed from 7 to 14 day. The following week all the chicks again, received, the diet 1 from 22 to 35 day. The broilers were fed the stnadard Grower diet containing 3100 Kcal Men/Kg and 19% CP (diet 5). At sixth week (phase 2) the brids which received diet 1 at the second week of the exp., were fed diet 5 and the three diluted deits containing 2480, 2170 and 1860 KcaI MEn/Kg, and 15.5, 13.6 and 11.6% CP. (namely diet 6, 7 and 8). In the following two weeks all the broilers were received the standard finisher diet (diet 9) containing 3200 Kcal MEn/Kg and 18% CP. In exp. 2, all conditions were similar to exp 1, except, male chicks were used only. Exp 1, the average body weight (ABW) of male broiles (MB) which were fed diet 1, 2, 3 and 4 in phase 1, were 287, 275, 267 and 249g (P<0.05), and feed intake (Fl) were 228, 238, 264 and 287g (P <0.05) respectively. The ABW and Fl for female broilers (FB) were 262, 259, 251 and 245g and 219, 226, 242 and 287g (P <0.05), respectively. In phase 2, ABW
LAL1ZLA.L LiLA
and FT of MB were 2098, 2006, 1917 and 1906g (P<0.05), and 1148, 1206,
1231 and 1341g (P<0.05), respectivly. The ABW of FB were 1761, 1695, 1712
and 1561g (P<0.05) and FT were 897, 976, 1050 and 1047g (P<0.05) for diet
5, 6, 7 and 8, respectively. In whole period (56 days), ABW of MB were 3098,
3077, 3068 and 3120g, and FT were 5921, 5861, 6087 and 6220g (P<0.05),
while for FB were 2596, 2544, 2557 and 2502 (P<0.05), and 5084, 5089, 5390
and 5114 (P <0.05), respectivly. In the EXP. 2, in phase 1, ABW of MB were
332, 323. 314 and 289g (P<0.05), and Fl were 262, 292, 315 and 321,
respectively. In phase 2, ABWwere 2028, 1929, 1870 and 1791g(P<0.05),
and Fl were 1050, 1180, 1210 and 1221g(P<0.05), respectivly. For whole
period ABW and FT were 2997, 3003, 2936 and 2900g (P<0.05), and 1183,
1136, 1111 and 1O78g (P<0.05), respectively. In both experiments, increasing
dilution rate, the abdominal fat decreased. Slightly the results of this exp.
suggest that diluting diet with rice hullo up to 30% it seems to be beneficial.
