Abstract

This Study was Performed for a periode of two years 1993 and 1994, to determine effect of rootstocks mailing 9 and 26 on fruit quality and ethylene evolution in red Delicious apple.
Immediatly after fruit Weight reached about 2 gr, Sampling was started and continued two weeks interval until harvest.
In this experiment,ethylene production , fruit drop/weight ,length and diameter ratio (L/D ratio) was mesured .at harvest time (143 days aften full bloom) , T.S.S. (Total soluble solides),Total acidity ,pH, dry matter of fruits, fruit firmnes and calcium of flesh and peel was measured
Results of this study showed that rootstocks had no any significant effect on ethylene production and fruit drop during growth period, but there was a good correlation between the ethylene production and fruit drop.
Rootstock significant effect On fruit weight and L/D ratio ‘but had effect on other parameters.
