Abstract

The native pullets were fed nine dietary regimens. All pullets were fed the same diet during the production period. First egg weight, daily feed intake ,egg weight and feed efficiency during the laying period of 22 to 54 weeks of age were not affected significantly (P >0.05) by the dietary energy and protein level as well.
When dietary energy levels of 2500, 2700 and 2900 Kcal/Kg of diet were compared to the egg produced ,the average percent of egg production was significantly (P>0.05) higher in hens recieved 2500 Kcl/Kg of diet than other energy levels. However ,the age of maturity was decreased as the dietary protein levels for pullets increased.
