Abstract

Infestation by this brucnid occurs in the field where females oviposit their eggs on the pods of prosopi.c spicigera. The larva after hatching bores the pod and penetrates the pod and feeds either on one or more than one seed depending on the number of seeds inside the pod.
The cocoon is constructed either within or outside the pod.It also breeds on dried pods and develops in them and has more than one generation a year in stored seeds.
