The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of different resource inputs on wheat production and estimation’ of the optimum as well as potential levels of yields.
In this study the data obtained from 1123 farmers, who were selected randomly among all wheat producers who had contract with the pivotal plan for wheat production in Isfahan province, were uesd.
Especial questionnaires about the application of the resource inputs by the selected farmers were computed. Multiple regression analysis was used to estimate a production function, which included quantitative variables, shuch as amount of seeds and chemical fertilizers, and qualitative variables, such as variety, rotation, forecrop, number of irrigation, presence of negative factors and application of herb”iscides.
The amounts of yield and inputs and their productivity for the levels of optimum and maximum yield for different regions of the province were compared with each other.
