Effects of 50 and 100 PPm gibberellic acid upon runner development of two strawberry cultivars (Senga Sengana and Atabaki)were studied under glass- house conditions. The experiment was laid out according to a factorial design with four replications. In each Plant the number and length of runners and the number of nodes were recorded.Data obtained showed that GA3 generally increased the number and length of runners as well as the number of nodes.
There was a significant interaction between growth regulator concentration and plant cultivar. The best concentration to achieve the above results was 50 PPm GA3 in Senga Sengana and 100 PPm GA3 in Atabaki.
