Abstract

Thirthy- six male lambs of two fat- tailed breeds, Moghani and Balutschi were randomly assigned into two dietary rations, namely A(contained 0% dried beet pulp with molasses) and B(contained 25 % dried beet pulp with molasses) 18 lambs per each ration. The lambs were fed adlibitum for9Odays.Growth rate feed consumption were measured during experimental period. At the end of experiment all lambs were slaughtered and carcasses and Cuts of those were studied. The obtained results are summarized as follows:
(1)No significant difference was found in daily gain between different ration. Feed Conversion was 1:6.5 and 1:7.2 for ration A and B respectively.
(2)Moghani Lambs gained (174.2 g/day) significantly higher than Balutschi Lambs (128.5 g/day). The difference was significant (P<0.O1).
(3)Performance of Moghani lambs which were fed with ration A was better than those were received ration B,but in case of Balutschi lambs the situation was opposit.
(4)Dressing % and Hindleg % of lambs were fed ration A were better than those received ration B.
(5)As far as cost of ration in concerned, it is possible to replace dried beet pulp with molasses with barley in ration of fattening lambs.
