Two experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of different concentrations of BAP (0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2 mg/l) and IBA (0, 0.01 and 0.05 mg/l) and complementary nitrogen compounds on in vitro proliferation rate of Juglans regial L. The results showed that BAP at 1-1.5 mg/I increased growth indicies when applied with no IBA in the medium. In the second trial, adding complementary nitrogen compounds (cazein hydrolysate, yeast extract and bannana powder ) to the basal medium (DKW) not only did not increase growth indicies but also caused browning of tissues.
