Fishery officers play a vital role in aquatic production system. Their main function is to guide the clientele and fish suppliers to make sure they practice sustainable aquaculture with regard to the laws, principles and regulations as determined by the Iranian Fishery Organization (SHILAT). The main purpose of this study was to assess educational needs of fisheries officers with respect to sustainable aquaculture. The type of study is a descriptive – correlative and applied survey method. The study population includes officers who are employed in aquaculture executive sectors. The samples were selected by means of simple classified sampling method. Validity of the research instrument was verified with due attention to the supervisors’ and collective of aquaculture experts’ comments. A pilot test was conducted through 10 questionnaires, 0.85 being computed as ? coefficient. The findings indicated educational needs of fisheries’ officers as regards sustainable aquaculture to be, according to priority, sustainable aquaculture management, biotechnical factors’ management, as well as control & approved management of aquatic diseases.
